Feel supported and empowered to move in safe and effective ways alongside your baby/little one(s) and other Mums. Come and join our classes either in Lower Hutt or Upper Hutt.

Will the class be pitched at the right level for me?

There are 2 levels of Mamas on the Move classes…

Mamas on the Move FOUNDATIONS - Our 5 week course supporting Mums to make a start with their return to exercise. This class is suitable from around 6 weeks postpartum.

Mamas on the Move EVOLVE - Our weekly subscription of either 1 or 2 sessions aimed at Mamas ready to advance their movement and keen to take things up a notch.

What can I expect from your sessions?

**Childcare support- All little ones are welcome from 6 weeks through to school age. The little ones stay with us in the same area where we exercise i.e. they are not in a separate room and are supported by our amazing childcare entertainer!

**Specifically designed sessions - Sessions are planned with postpartum considerations in mind! They consider each participant, your stage of recovery, your experience with exercise, what you enjoy and postpartum specific issues such as pelvic floor issues and diastasis.

**Pre and postnatal certified trainers - We believe that training clients who are pre and postnatal requires specific knowledge and expertise. Both myself and Katrina, are pre and postnatal certified and have children ourselves.

**A chance to connect with other Mums - Having the opportunity to connect and chat with other Mums is an integral part of our sessions!

THE WORKOUT - Our Evolve workouts are highly varied, fun and involve functional movements. Within EVOLVE some of the options available will be more advanced, whether this involves adding weights to a movement, making the movement more dynamic, or introducing jumping. You choose the option that works for you i.e. if you aren't comfortable with jumping, there are heaps of ways to progress a movement that don't involve jumping. In comparison to the Foundations class, this class is faster paced, involves less rest periods and longer work periods.

Pregnancy and beyond can feel like exploring a new city without a road map. Your identity evolves. Your body may feel different and may not feel like your own. Movements you could previously perform with ease may feel harder or need adaptation. You will likely feel a whole spectrum of emotions during this time - overjoyed, overwhelmed, uncertain, the happiest you have ever felt. Sometimes you will feel all of these things in one day!

Alongside all of this, you are learning the many skills involved in raising a human being, often on minimal sleep with a concoction of hormones at play.

Physical activity plays an important role in pregnancy, birth and motherhood. The benefits of movement during this time are well documented and the research is clear - exercise during pregnancy and postpartum is important for the health of you and your baby.

mum enjoying working out with baby and personal trainer
Prior to having my son, I was an avid gym goer. After having my son, I had some abdominal separation. My women’s health physio suggested I go and see Tash because of her experience and qualification in postpartum exercise.
Right from the get go Tash was so understanding and quickly made me feel at ease. The best part was I could take my baby with me to our sessions! Tash took the time to get to know me, my baby and what I wanted to achieve during our sessions. I gained so much from my sessions with Tash. I now have the confidence to move in many ways and feel like I am no longer limited by the exercises I can and can't do.

Pregnant Mum holding tummy
I started training with Tash November 2018 (when my son Elliot was 2). Throughout this time she has helped me to see amazing results.
Getting pregnant with my daughter Greer was a real journey and there were a number of heartaches along the way. Training with Tash strengthened me during those times, she walked alongside me, listened to me and tailored our sessions to where I was at.
Once pregnant, I continued to train with Tash and was able to exercise regularly until 41 weeks pregnant. Her experience in pre and post natal care meant she knew about specific changes occurring. Training during my pregnancy has had a huge impact on my recovery and my ability to get back into training.
Greer is now 5 months and I have enjoyed training back with Tash for the last two months. I’m learning a lot about listening to my body, retraining my muscles and that ‘it takes time’. I have made huge progress in these first few months. I love that I can turn up to a session tired and flat and I always leave having laughed, worked hard and refuelled. Training with Tash has had a huge positive impact on my mental health. It provides me with patience and stamina I need for everything else I have on that week.
I would highly recommend training with Tash. She works with you to get the best outcomes for you. She tailors every session for the individual and genuinely cares about your goals and what’s going on for you. Tash understands the busyness/constant juggle of the mother-load and she takes this all into account when working alongside you. Tash is a legend!
